Finished the first two of the set of three. Not a fan of the writing style. Will not be continuing the series.
I didn’t agree that these novels give a picture of life in England between the wars. Read Huxley for that. It’s a super focused look into the narrator’s own life with no cultural context whatsoever. I’ve enjoyed plenty of books with no plot which are character drive but the term driven implies movement forward of some kind. This is a series of character sketches, layered and evolving th ...more
