Ceritanya setia dengan versi Grimms, hanya sedikit perubahan yang membuatnya sedikit lebih...realistis? Maksudku, tidak ada penyihir atau bebek yang bisa bicara. Di akhir buku ini diceritakan lahirnya kisah Hansel and Gretel ini di kumpulan Grimms', sampai pada revisi di edisi berikutnya. Ternyata Hansel and Gretel ini (kalau benar sejarahnya) justru sangat setia dengan versi awal milik Grimms.

What makes this is the art. The story is a fairly perfunctory retelling; it's the story you know, written nicely, but nothing new or unexpected. The art, however, is something special. It's dark, evocative, and creepy. Lovely. ...more

I like Gaiman's works especially when he writes a retelling of a beloved fairytale. When I saw that he wrote this, I couldn't be more excited. I kept wondering what "his" version would be. Alas I was disappointed. Don't get me wrong though. Hansel and Gretel is still a good story but this was not what I expected from a Neil Gaiman version. ...more

Wonderful dark art.
The story itself is unfortunately not that much re-written (at least I don't think so).. and also a tinsy-winsy short, really..
But it's ok!!
