Seen loads of film versions loads of times. Finally read it.

Read this one every year though I don’t tend to add books I know I’ve read plenty.
This time round it was the audiobook read by Tim Curry which I’d give a four star I think. Remarkably understated performance for Tim Curry which is probably why I enjoyed it. Still looking for the perfect audio version but this is pretty good and thankfully the character voices weren’t ridiculously over the top.

This is another one of those cultural lumps with which most people are familiar, but few have actually read. I was surprised by the number of passages that seemed like stream-of-consciousness drug trips. It didn't seem to me to be quite the wholesome Christian parable that many people make it out to be. It is a story of redemption, true, but there's nothing in the story that could not be adequately explained by Scrooge simply having a change of heart after a series of vivid nightmares. It's clea
