What I Loved: I loved getting to know Mencheres even more in this book since he really never grew on me before this. I thought Kira was a great match for him because he needed someone strong/resilient. Overall, their story was really great to watch how it played out!
What I Liked: I really like how characters from other books appeared in this one. The stories tie together quite nicely. I really like getting lost in this world that Jeaniene has created.

Recently Mencheres had lost his power of visions and hasn't been feeling himself . In fact he's suicidal. Bones is a little worried about him as is Vlad. When Kira(a human cop) stumbles upon him, he looks like he's being attacked and she ends up foiling his 'death-by-Ghoul' plan and almost gets herself killed. I loved getting to know Menchares better, and Kira is perfect for him. Excellent narration by Tavia Gilbert, as usual!
