This story continues where the last book ended with FBI agents Maggie O'Dell and R. J. Tully in pursuit of a vicious serial killer preying on truck stops and highway rest areas. It seems as if the killer is taunting them as he provides clues that lead directly to one of his dumping grounds.

FBI Agents Maggie O'Dell and R.J. Tully are called to Iowa where a body has been uncovered on a construction site. They are part of the FBI Highway Serial Killer Initiative, working to find the dumping grounds of serial killers thought to be traveling the nation's interstate highways.
