Harry Bosch is now one year into his return to the LAPD out of retirement. He and Kiz Rider are partnered in the Open-Unsolved Unit, working cold cases. One of the them, the 13-year old missing persons case of Marie Gesto, has plagued Harry since he was originally assigned to the investigation. It's now red hot after a serial killer confesses to her abduction as part of an agreement to avoid the death penalty. Now he and Kiz have to determine if he's telling the truth.

Wow. Just wow. This story

Working in the Open-Unsolved Unit gives Detective Harry Bosch a chance to look into an unsolved case where he was the lead investigator. Thirteen years ago, 22-year-old Marie Gest walked out of a grocery store and was never seen again. Her car was found in the garage of an apartment available for rent. The District Attorney has now contacted Harry about the case against Raynard Waits. Waits was found driving around Echo Park with two bodies in the back of his van. Another great read in the Harry Bosch Series! While it started a little slow for me, it finished with a bang as always. Harry & Kiz's investigation of cold cases continues, and the current case is one Harry originally investigated 13 years ago - another missing woman that haunts Harry day & night. I have been reading a lot of these Harry Bosch books, because I finally was able to get a bunch of them and am getting all caught up with them. I really enjoyed this one about the unsolved case that had been bothering Harry. I am amazed how bad Harry is in relationships though, but I also can understand how he might be just a tad too intense for his own good.

This one had kind of a happy sad ending, but I loved it from the first page to the last. I am giving it 5 out of 5 stars. Can't wait to re

This was kind of slow and a bit boring till about half way point and then boy did it get good! It was also around this time I realized that one of the seasons of the Bosch show was based on this book but the book was different enough that I was still in suspense.
