Detective Sergeant Frank Malloy receives a headache of an assignment directly from Police Commissioner Teddy Roosevelt, the bombing murder of wealthy industrialist Gregory Van Dyke. Of course, complicating the case even more is the presence of midwife Sarah Brandt whose family are friends of the victim and are standing vigil with the family.
