FBI Analyst Lucy Kincaid and Private Investigator Sean Rogan attempt yet another crime-free vacation. This time it’s on Cape Cod and things are looking pretty promising until Lucy answers a call to help a man in distress in the water. She later determines that the man thinks someone tried to kill him.

Short, really short. At 22 pages it truly qualifies as a short story. I don't have a whole lot to say about it because it was so short. Sean Rogan and Lucy Kincaid try, again, to take a short break from the murder and mayhem that fills their lives. They end up in Cape Cod where the meet another couple when Lucy rescued the man from drowning. Their tale of a stalker ex draws Sean and Lucy in and they agree to help the couple, but this stalker ex has more than a few skills herself.

Lucy Kincaid and Sean Rogan are taking a much needed beach vacation before she reports to the FBI Academy in Quantico. But when they see someone flailing in the ocean, Lucy rushes in to rescue a drowning man. The man claims that someone wants him dead. Lucy and Sean hear him out and decide to help him.
This was a very short (22 pages) story in the Lucy Kincaid series. It was fast moving and entertaining. My rating: 4 Stars.

Lucy and Sean try to take a short vacation and end up stopping a murder attempt. It was a quick and easy situation for the two of them, but I was not overly impressed with the story. It really doesn’t do anything for the series and was just a way to fit in a vacation for Lucy and Sean. The story does have an interesting storyline and was entertaining though.

In this very short story in the Lucy Kincaid series, Lucy and Sean are on a short vacation before she goes to the FBI Academy. While lounging on the beach, they spot a man struggling in the ocean. When Lucy rescues the man, he lets her know it was an attempted murder. Of course Lucy and Sean can't let it go and get involved.

This extremely short story is printed in the anthology, LOVE IS MURDER, edited by Sandra Brown.
It is a huge hard cover book I borrowed from public library. Many familiar authors' short stories are included.
