FBI Agents Nate Dunning and Lucy Kincaid are asked to escort a prisoner back to San Antonio from a small Texas town where he was arrested. What sounds like a routine transport turns into a disaster. I love a good novella, and this is one of the best I have ever read/listened to. The audio kept me on edge and as I listened to it, I was shopping and gasped and drew several glances at certain points of the story. It was wonderful to see how Lucy and her new boss, Rachal, are coming to trust each other. Nate needs an HEA and I want him to have one. Maybe in a future book, I hope so.

There is a lot going on in this novella. There is a good mystery with lots of action, an update on Lucy's home life, and improved work dynamics. Lucy Kincaid is one of my favorite series. I love the scenes with Sean and his son. Lucy is back on track with her relationship with Rachael, her boss. A must read if you are into this series. ...more
