What Evan finds is that he only knows the tip of the iceberg and this could be the hardest case he has ever taken on. It will also be his last, he is spent, he is done, but he is determined to keep Max safe.

Can you tell I loved this book? Evan Smoak and all he represents? Gregg Hurwitz has created the ultimate anti-hero, the knight in tarnished armor, and even though this is book five, Orphan X never gets old.

INTO THE FIRE is filled with action, emotion, and atmosphere! Gregg Hurwitz knows how to build a character into something “more,” brilliant, yet damaged, intense, and definitely larger than life! He has surrounded Evan with characters that truly bring this tale to life, sometimes with attitude, sometimes with humor, but always with heart.

An incredible read, once again! Suspense, action, danger, yet, balanced with endearing human day to day flaws, I cannot recommend this book or this series enough! Definitely a re-read for me!

The Orphan X series is full on, adventure, fighting, killing and gripping series. Evan Smoak was living in foster care when he was plucked out at the age of twelve. From that time on, he was groomed and trained to become a government assassin, called Orphan X. When the program ends, the orphans were all killed, at least most of them. Omg, the ending! I cannot wait for the next book. This is now definitely one of my favorites series and I might even like Evan Smoak more than Jack Reacher. This book was a thriller fest and gave no chance for the reader or Evan to relax, even at the end. I do not think Evan has ever been physically abused to the extent he was in this one. The poor guy but this was a lot of fun!.
