Hemlock is one of those books I've had in my TBR list for a while, but since it is also one of the Alyssa Recommends book, I finally decided to go ahead and read it!

And I must say it was a very different kind of werewolves story. The story starts at an already complex point, when werewolves have been in the open for a while and they are considered dangerous and monstrous and prejudice is rampant and the government has set up confinement camps (and maybe it's just me but that reminded me of Nazis

What an amazing beginning to a series. Werewolf books are really weird for me. Either they work or don’t. This one worked for me in a lot of ways.


What made this work was the way that Mac’s character is compassionate, yet feisty at times. She’s very inquisitive and smart. All the things you look for in a good female heroine. Also like that she is right upfront with her friends. I think the love triangle here was just terrific.
