WHAT I LIKED
•CODY! Had Cody not entered the picture in this book, it would have been a complete bore! He's older now, with a wife and child, but he is still the same sarcastic kid from the first book. He brought this story to life because the main character, Sera is sooo boring and dull. He became a great friend to Sera when she goes to find help. WHAT I LIKED
•CODY! Had Cody not entered the picture in this book, it would have been a complete bore! He's older now, with a wife and child, but he is still the same sarcastic kid from the first book. He brought this story to life because the main character, Sera is sooo boring and dull. He became a great friend to Sera when she goes to find help. He helped in a huge way, and ended up being a part of the mystery of what's going on. He in turn becomes an asset to the story and I'm so glad for that because then we get MORE CODY!
•There was a bit more action in the second book. Sera is constantly on the run from Diotech. Then enters another human robot like her, Kaelan. He is always after her and will not stop until he gets her. There is also the race to find Dr. Maxxer again. She left Sera on a whirlwind of a maze just to find her. Maxxer is also a very mysterious woman that I can't decide if I trust or not. She has good intentions, but she can also be misleading.
•Sera thinks more for herself. She listened only to her own instincts and didn't just do what everyone else wanted her to do. I enjoyed her more in this book and I felt saddened for her that she was basically by herself through out the book. She didn't really have a friend to turn to.

WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE
•It was so damn slow!!! I was so close to not finishing it, but I sucked it up because I was really hoping something would happen. Luckily, about halfway through was when it got better.
•Too much info dumping. There was so much info that should have been brought up in the first book. This series should have been made into duology.
•New plot. They brought up a whole new mess of bad guys that we don't even get to see in this book! Who are these people? How come they have Alixter be their middle man? Why all these new problems show up? I am sooo confused.
•Dull characters. Zen and Sera have got to be one of the most boring couples ever. I don't see the chemistry, and Zen is hardly around in this book that I don't even feel anything for him. If he dies, oh well! It makes me wonder why Sera still loves him? There are plenty of fish in the sea you know!
•Not another love triangle!!! Enter new guy Kaelan. He's a human robot like Sera and is programmed to be like her but better. They hate each other at first since they are enemies, him working for Diotech. Slowly, they let down their barriers and learn they have more in common than they thought. I guess I can see the chemistry more with him since I never felt it with Zen. With Zen he tells her they are soul mates, so she automatically says ok. I never felt the whole insta-love thing for them. Sera and Kaelan on the other hand have more sparks flying between them.

FINAL VERDICT

While the second book was slightly better, I still wouldn't recommend the series. That's just my opinion though. I really wanted to like this series only because the author, Jessica is such a sweet person! I am still unsure whether I want to continue onto the third book. However, since it is the last one I more than likely will finish it only because there are so many questions left unanswered. Also, huge cliffhanger ending! Why must they torture us with endings like that?! Will Sera ever get away from Diotech? Will she be able to take them down? Why is Cody so important to Diotech? So many questions! I apologize for my ranty review. As you can see I have a love/hate relationship with this series.
