Two years ago one of the biggest young adult contemporary surprises for me was Huntley Fitzpatrick's debut novel, My Life Next Door. I was so amazed with this story that I tried to make all my friends read it, I raved and raved and raved about it. No one should be surprised that her new novel, What I Thought Was True, was on the top of my 2014 wishlist. Unfortunately, tale about Gwen and Cass was nowhere near awesomeness of Samantha and Jase.

This story was "Meh" to say the least. I had such high hopes for this book. When starting this, I was expecting lots and lots of romance and love. Well that is not the case in this story. Instead, I got a mediocre love story, with a character that didn't know what kind of person she was. Gwen was a very hypocritical person. She would do one thing, then turn around doing the complete opposite. Gwen always fought with Cass, the love interest. She blamed him for everything not rea ...more
