Pretty good - would appeal to a younger crowd (12-16). Revenge stories aren't my fave but I love Morgan Matson's writing so it was fun to get more of that. I think book 2 will be better because that false sense of naivety will be gone, which was my only real problem with the book. ...more

Really liked this book! It was very fast paced for me and I found myself unable to put it down. This is a revenge story which is why it was so entertaining. I didn't think Gemma made the best decisions for the most part, but I found myself intrigued and I wanted the best for her.

I knew going into this book I was going to love it as much as I would of a few years ago. I feel like I'm gravitating towards more mature books and my tastes are changing. But I actually ended up really enjoying this one. I went into it wanting light hearted fun and something a little silly and that is just what I got. I'll probably continue on with the series in the future.

3.75 stars for this one, this had a lot of twists and turns. The story keeps you intrigued with a "what will happen next" question mark. This book would appeal to the younger generation of teens. My only issue is if Gemma was smart enough to do what she did to Hallie at 11 how could she be so dense when she's 16/17? Sometimes I wanted to yell at her wake up and smell the coffee but overall I was entertained.

This was a cute read but I couldn't get over how frustrating and naive Gemma was. Most of the twists were obvious but one got me! Overall this is definitely on the younger side of YA and don't go into this book expecting it to be on Morgan Matson's level. I will continue on in the series because I am intrigued and I'm glad I read this book. This would make a good beach read!

Read this for a goodreads bookclub called read with friends. It's a cute contemporary geared towards younger teens. It is a story about revenge, friendship and love. It was predictable at times but I did not see the twist at the end. This will be a trilogy where 2nd book comes out in May.
