Wow. I have been reading a lot of fantasy books in my life and especially lately but this one blew me away. This book is full of all the elements that I love in my books; fantasy, magic and romance!

THE KISS OF DECEPTION was unexpectedly original, and with a highly mysterious adventure, that made me expecting more and more until the very end. Mary E. Pearson crafts something so magical, and truly heartwarming, the story about one girl whose a princess, fights for what she believes in and what she

I have so many feels right now! The writing was so fantastic. I loved the mystery of who was which character, I loved the lady friendships SO MUCH, and Lia is one of the best characters I have read in a while! I have nothing negative to say about this book, and I just need the next one right now.

Reread October 2018: Loved it even more the second time.

I love YA and I love fantasy, so The Kiss of Deception was perfect for me. I enjoyed this book quite a bit. I especially found the lore of this one interesting. And I'm pretty sure we're going to find out even more lore by the end of the series and I'm very interested to know it all.

Loved the characters, great writing style, a bit predictable at times, sometimes the romance was too much it shadows the world building however it was still an entertaining read. Lia was an amazing protagonist can't wait to read the next one because the ending to this was not satisfying at all. ...more

This was my first book by Mary Pearson. Overall I enjoyed it, however, I felt like I wanted more things explained. It kept talking about a gift that she had but never fully explained the qualities of the gift. While I liked both male protagonists I never felt any chemistry between the characters so I'm hoping more builds up in book 2. The world is an interesting one where I'd like to see more of what goes on. My official rating is 3.5 stars. ...more
