This was an amazing book, I'll always be grateful to Lauren for introducing me to John Green's mind.
The characters were profound and unique, especially the one of Margo's. The plot and its unfolding were intriguing enough. It was also smartly written and a lot thought-provoking.
I mean, we live for the future, we plan everything so in 10 years or 20 years time we'll be happily ever after, but we forget to actually live for the present.
That's what Margo taught me. To observe. To listen. To live. N ...more

Quentin and Margo have been next door neighbors for years. As young children they were very close, but grew apart as they got older. Margo became distant and both her and Quentin became interested in different things. So, when Margo appeared at Quentin’s bedroom window in the dead of night, dressed entirely in black, he was confused and curious.

[ I don't even remeber when I read this book. Probably 2013.]
As the film is being released soon, I thought I'd write a short review two years after reading this book.
Firstly, this wasn't a bad book. It was just VERY similar to John Green's other books. Now, this was actually the second John Green book I read, the first being The Fault in Our Stars, obviously, which I loved, although I think maybe my definite 5/5 stars that I gave to that book has now lessened to a 4.5, because the book wasn't w ...more

It is no secret to those who know me that John Green is one of my favorite authors ever. I recently re-read Paper Towns as a read-along with a Goodreads group and I must say that this book was even better the second time around.
If you are familiar with John Green, you know that his books are full of symbolism, deep understanding of human perception, literary references, very important life lessons, and lots of humor. While Paper Towns is considered to be a YA novel, I think that people of all ag ...more

3.75 stars I read this with anticipation of the movie coming out soon. The characters in this book was funny and the some of the situations where bizarre. But the plot made you want to keep reading. Margo was one of the most interesting and maybe a little flawed characters I've read in a while. I loved how devoted to finding her Q was. It was a crazy adventure that I was glad I went on and good coming of age story.
