I wish I read this in like 5th grade!
A fun story full of magic. This is the first book in a series of five. While this book is for a younger age group- if you are a fantasy lover, enjoyed the immortal instruments series, or anything with magic-pick up this book. I can't wait for the next book in the series!

This was a very enjoyable read. The dialogue is pretty on point (but hey its clare and black how can it not be?). The story dragged a bit in the middle for me and I noticed a few plot holes but maybe they will be addressed in future books. Overall not blown away but i did enjoy myself while reading this and I will for sure continue the series. I would recommend this to middle grade fantasy lovers!

4.5 stars. This book took me completely by surprise. I didn't expect to like it as much as I did! I can't wait for book 2!
