Ok so I’m noticing a pattern here. The last 100 pages of this book had me on the edge of my seat just like book one. I LOVED having Helene’s POV in this and can totally see what people see in her. I will say I expected this book to end on a cliff hanger to lead to book 3 and while I was happy with some of what happened at the end, it all seems to wrap up a bit too easily. I’m curious how the next books will be for me.

I enjoyed this book enormously but I was also enormously frustrated with this book. It was an intense read with very few happy moments in it.. The whole thing felt very heavy. I will say that it did a fantastic job of playing with my emotions. When bad things happened I got very angry and upset. And when things went their way I whooped aloud. I felt like it was real. This is more like a 4.5 star bumped up to a 5 with some of the reveals. My original rating was a 4 but I remembered nothing from this so all of the reveals were major surprises. I can’t wait to actually finish the series and I’m excited for her next book!
