I find Danny Gregory highly inspiring, and I enjoyed this volume of his very much. It is part memoir, part sketchbook, and all heart. Having read this, Art Before Breakfast, and The Creative License, my favorite is The Creative License, which has more to say to readers who want to build a sketchbook habit—more tips, more pep talks, more ideas for things to draw. If you are familiar with Danny Gregory (as an artist and author of several books, who inspires others) then you might like to read this - the book that started it all. A light quick read, touching and humorous at the same time. Danny's humor & sensitive nature certainly comes through, but wasn't as moving as I had expected or heard from other readers it would be. My first time reading an illustrated memoir, definitely enjoyed his drawings!
