I thought they were so self involved, smarmy, and hated how they thought they were better than everyone else. I also early on guessed what Amy was up to, it made me hate her, that she could even contemplate that and made me realize just how crazy she was. I also guessed Nick's secret, it was just too cliched, the older teacher, having an affair with a student. This made me realize what a chump Nick was.

This is a very interesting book and very well-written and well-thought out.

The beginning was a little slow, but it picked up fast in the middle, and I got sucked in. Both the protagonists are unlikable people, but you have to admire them for the mind games they had to play.

The ending was a little anti-climatic though, and unresolved. I would've liked something a little more definite. Not because I need resolved endings, I sometimes enjoy unresolved stories, but because this particular story jus ...more

I wanted to read the book before seeing the movie so as I was reading I pictured the actors in the roles they played. I really enjoyed the book becasue Gillian Flynn keeps the tension of whether or not the husband did or didnt kill his wife. She also makes you really think hard about whether or not Nick or his wife are likeable.

SO let me tell you about my experience with this book. I read about 1/4 of this book before getting very impatient and reading the last 1/4 of the book. The impatience has nothing to do with the pace of the novel but all to do with me. And then after reading the shocking twist of the novel….I reading another section of the novel before going back to where I had originally left off in the book the first time.
