I was kind of disappointed by this book. I really expected more. I felt like there was a lot of hanging around talking about what everyone was going to be doing and not enough doing. I was happy to get a deeper insight into some of the character's mindset like Ringer and Poundcake. I just still didn't feel like it was enough. Dumbo played a fairly big role in this book and he doesn't have a viewpoint. Neither does Megan or Razor whose would have both been of interest. I would like to have known ...more

So freaking unbelievable! Scarry, gripping, extraordinary... I don't have enough words for it. I read it in one sitting and couldn't put it down. I had to know what would happen. And now, I have to wait till fall 2015 to know the end :-(.

You have self sacrifice; horrendous use of children; manipulation of the minds and enhancement of bodies. And these are only a few tricks used by Rick Yancy to enthral us.

The alternate point of view really do add to the suspense. We're left waiting each time and

Caffeinated Aspects:

Aliens, danger, human struggle and bonds between unlikely allies are all aspects I love about the Fifth Wave trilogy. Infinite Sea shares multiple perspectives from key characters and picks up shortly after the climatic ending of Fifth Wave. The world is terrifying at times and no one, I mean no one can be trusted. I love how it kept me on edge, and at times holding my breath.
The gang has made base in a hotel infested with rats. *god help us* The plan is to wait for Eva

wow just wow.... another great book by Rick Yancey. I didn't live it as much as the first book mostly because it almost felt to me as time stood still on this one. time didn't move. what was actually weeks felt or read from my POV seemed like a few days. not enough things happened in that time period to really want to remember it. so for me it was a little slow for me... just a little. I still think this was a great book.

I need the next book like now though... waiting till may 24th will be the

Okay, so I just finished this book today. I look back on my review for the first book and I remembered that I really loved it, but I read it years ago so I don't remember much about it at all.

To be fair, I'm not sure if I don't like the second book as much because I don't remember much about the first book, or if my reading tastes have refined since I read the first book, or maybe this book just isn't as good as the first one. I plan to eventually reread both again to find out.

For now though,

Jumping in to read The Infinite Sea was imminent after reading The 5th Wave. I just couldn’t get enough of Rick Yancey’s post-apocalyptic world. Lucky for me, I didn’t have to wait as it has already been out for some time. The downside, I have to wait for The Last Star, which will not release until May 24th, 2016. I’m sure it will be worth the wait.

Even better than the first installment, The Infinite Sea is a page turner. The fifth wave of the alien attack continues to terrorize the remainin

Excellent follow-up to The 5th Wave.

My only (constructive) criticism is that this trilogy should be enclosed in one cover. Unlike other YA trilogies, the first book was very incomplete. Likewise, this book is also incomplete. Neither installment ends in a natural break of the entire story. The Harry Potter series is separated by natural breaks in the overall story. The same with the Divergent Trilogy and the Maze Runner. There's no "accomplishment" by the end of either the first or second book,

I felt like there wasn't a lot happening with this book. The one horror was how kids were weaponized in a new way, I was stunned that this could even been thought of, even if it is fiction.

The regular gang seemed to mostly fight, nothing else. No one seemed to stop and think about things, just reacted like the kids they were.
