This book focuses on a couple of years after book 1, from Adam's point of view. The emotions were raw, the pain so real, the destruction of his life so complete, Adam found he couldn't handle being left behind by Mia and was still deeply in love with her. I was riveted to this book from the first page, hoping it would be as good as the first and do it justice. IT DID! Remarkable writing!

I was happy to see that this book was going to let us see what happened to Adam and Mia. I really wanted to know that they were ok.
For the first part of the book I had my doubts, things seemed hopeless. Mia left and Adam seemed to spiral down and become a shell of a person. I blamed both of them. It wasn’t until the events on the bridge that I understood why Mia did what she did, but it didn’t make me want to forgive her. *sigh* this was beautiful as well, and also heartbreaking, but in a different way than 'If I Stay'. It also had closure, and a new beginning - which I also want to read more about!
Gayle Forman is writing angst so well I feel like I am the one having to actually deal with it! Adam is in a very bad place in this book, and he is so hopelessly lost he has no idea what to do to find himself again.
