07/20/2022: Reread on audiobook!
This is another book that I never posted a review for the first time that I read it. This is a shame since I adore this series so much. I really love the progression of the characters and their relationships with one another in this book. We get to see a little bit deeper into the characters. I also really love the plot twists and how the plot of this book ties in with the rest of the series. Clare's writing style sucks me in each and every time I pick up one of h ...more

City of Fallen Angels read like a first in a series, not the 4th. It was more “oops I thought my series was over but now I have to write another story” than a logical next book. To me, it seemed a bit scattered and didn’t make much sense until it all came together. Unlike the previous 3 books that contained a lot of world building, action, and focused on the Mortal Instruments and their purpose, this book was mostly drama.
