I really enjoyed this book. It was a very fast read for me, and while not a backpacker, I was able to live through Cheryl Strayed and have the adventure right along with her.
Her writing made me mull over relationships in my own life. I am not fighting grief like Strayed was, but the book made me rething a few things.

This book is about a woman who is beaten down by her life circumstances, so she decides to hike the Pacific Crest Trail alone. The book took awhile to get into the story and get my attention. Once I got into it, I enjoyed the read. It is a true story, and the author takes you along with her on her trek. It was easy to visualize the people she meets along the trail. I really enjoyed the way this memoir read like a novel. The story of the author's journey is insightful and encouraging. If not to walk the PCT to perhaps follow a different trail in life.
