I am a little shocked after reading this one. The beginning was horrific, I hated what happened to the very sweet Amish family and hated how Kate came upon them and what she saw. I think what made things worse was that as readers, we knew that things were done with malicious intent and the book took us through the why behind it.

Another excellent installment in the Kate Burkholder series! This one really is a heartbreaker.
On the romantic front, looks like Kate and John are making strides in their relationship!
