I loved the first six books, but then BURNED happened, and I started to ask myself whether I should quit while the going was good. Turns out the answer was yes. I had to pause FEVERBORN for about a week, and listen to another title that just so happened to be narrated by the brilliant Luke Daniels as well on account of the controversy surrounding the previous male narrator of this series: Phil Gigante. Or, more specifically how Karen Marie Moning handled it. I found it i

I was excited for this book to come out, had pre-ordered it from audible, got up early to download it on release day. It was as I started to listen to it that I realized that the narrators had changed. While I have listened to both before and liked them I didn't like them for this series. I really missed Phil Gigante and the way that he did the male voices. The woman's voice wasn't quite as bubbly/air-heady, I didn't think I would miss that, but I did. Feverborn brings the gang back to fight the bad guys and try to save the world. I love Karen Marie Moning but I wish we had less Mac and more Dani/Jada.

I enjoyed Feverborn and I thought the plot was good. Mac’s story has a surprising twist but I did get irritated with her. I’m not going to spoil it but with the direction thi

Of all the books in the series this was my least favorite. It’s an OK book. There is a potential twist that I’m not a fan of because it changes a cornerstone of the series. I liked the way that KMM approached Dani. I hate to say it but I could do with a few less Mac and Barrons sex scenes. I get it they like some consensual violent sex.
This is a set up book for the next installment so basically I’m saying it could have been a few chapters shorter.
