This is the first book in Karen Rose's Cincinnati series. It starts off really strongly with the main character, psychologist Faith Corcoran, returning to her grandmother's deserted house which she has inherited, except the house isn't that deserted. A serial killer is using it as a place to torture and keep his victims.

While I liked this book and all the twists and turns I felt like the book was never going to end. At over 500 pages it's a hefty book.
It seemed like Faith was living Murphy's law as every time she turned around something bad was happening to her. It really sucked that the one place she thought was safe for her turned out to be not to be. Faith learned so much when she went home. I sort of kept waiting for her to fall apart and I think that might have happened had she not met Deacon.

This is one very long, very good book.
This is one heck of a LOOOOONG book. I was so interested and kept reading but hours kept flying by. I read pretty fast and it still took more than one day with lots of reading time.
CLOSER THAN YOU THINK is the first book in a new series. I did a little research since I had never read this author and because I definitely want to read the next book in this series. I found this is sort of spin-of ...more
