This is such a great book. It started really slow for me, and I was wondering what all the hype was about, but then boom, it hit me and I fell in love with Eleanor, she made me laugh and cry. I found myself rooting for her, and wanting her story to have a very happy ending. Oh and i can't forget about Raymond, what a fun character, we all need a friend like him. I am very stingy with my 5 star ratings, but this one is easily 5 stars and I won't forget Eleanor, because she isn't just fine, she is

This is a tough one to review. On one hand, I'm getting a little tired of all the awkward-cum-heroic main characters that seem to be popular now. On the other hand, that's probably just my bias and informed by the kind of work I do, so that opinion is likely an outlier.
Overall, I'd say this book was well-written, and the writing was fairly tight when it would've been easy to stretch it out. The requisite twists were present and the characters were fairly well-drawn and nicely detailed. Somethin ...more

I loved this book! Eleanor is fabulous. She is weird and awkward and I adore all of her idiosyncratic quirks. I love that she has slowly begins to learn what it’s like to make friends and socialize because she truly has no idea how. Raymond is amazingly patient and the perfect balance to her weirdness. The irony is how weird she thinks he is! They are a perfect pair. The story is a meandering though the usual days with odd little happenings thrown in but it works wonderfully. It’s perfectly pace

Eleanor Oliphant is a social misfit. She lives a life of isolation but decides to step out of her comfort zone and makes friends with Raymond. I found this book charming but humorous. There are lots of laugh-out-loud moments. Narrated by Eleanor and author’s debut but very well-written. The ending is heartwarming with lots of hope for Eleanor’s future. Recommended for those who love feel-good books.
