Everything, Everything is quite beautifully written, but there were some things that I guessed when I was only a few pages in... and that kind of spoiled me - just like Madeline's spoiler reviews.

My Review
Typically, I am not the biggest fan of contemporaries unless the story is amazing. This is definitely one of those stories. It is different, yet realistic. I really loved the writing. There are a few charts and doodles inside as well that are very fitting. The story was so compelling that I finished this book in one sitting. I experienced so many feelings while reading this. Sadness, hope, pity, and the heartwarming that came when the two main characters came together. It is truly a won ...more

I quickly slipped into Everything, Everything in part because of the protagonist, Madeline. Madeline has a rare disorder and for the past seventeen years, she has not left her sterile environment. She is a reader, and her talks about books and her routine when a new book arrives endeared her to me. Despite her diagnosis, she is surprising happily and positive. She is a complex character who is sheltered and naive. Often times she surprised me with displays of surprisingly mature characteristics

When I read the synopsis for this book, I immediately thought of that movie from the 70s starring John Travolta called The Boy in the Plastic Bubble. Yoon's story is one in reverse, with the girl that is trapped in the bubble.
Madeline has lived in isolation for 18 years. She suffers from a rare disorder that compromises her immune system, making it impossible for her to live in the real world. Her home has an airlock and anyone going into or out of the home must submit to a decontamination proce ...more

3.5 / 3.75 I really enjoyed the first half of this book, I loved Nurse Carla, and of course Ollie is the perfect boy, and Maddy is so brave and entertaining, then the book took a turn, Maddy became a little whiny (in my opinion) and well the plot twist grrr, lets just say I had already figured it out, but I was hoping that I was wrong. Lastly the ending was so rushed and there wasn't any resolution. Overall I am still glad that I read this book. It was quick and fun, I would not recommend the au

You know how sometimes a book really surprises you? You start reading, not knowing exactly what to expect, and before you know it, you’re all in. You love the characters, the writing, the story… That’s exactly what happened to me with this book. It popped up on a list of anticipated YA books for the fall, it had a cool cover and an interesting premise, and I decided to give it a shot. And I’m so glad I did! Right away, I was drawn in.
