Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda is one of the best YA books ever! I loved all the characters, they were so realistic. And I loved the dilemmas Simon and Blue faced with realizing they were gay.
This is a book I'm getting for the library at the school where I teach, I think every teenager should read it.

This was so good! I haven't listened to/read a YA book in ages but it was such a great story. It made me nostalgic for high school one minute and then so glad it's all in the past the next. :-D It hit every emotion, more of the good than the bad (I laughed a lot) but there might have been a few tears shed and some rage on Simon's behalf too. :) It's more a coming of age/coming out story than a romance, but the romance is definitely there between Simon and his mysterious email friend, Blue. Super sweet, very funny and absolutely adorable. That describes this book and its main character Simon too! I totally fell in love with him and wanted so badly for things to work out between him and Blue. Seeing high school from the perspective of a gay teenaged boy was a completely new experience for me, but also very relatable. The narrator of this audiobook was amazing! He was exactly Simon in every way. This story is really, really great and the audio version makes it even better!

To be fair, I'm definitely not in this book's demographic so I know I can be a bit harsh on the plot points that were convenient or contrived. That being said, I really liked the way the author and the story called out prejudices of different sorts. I have mad respect for an author who makes me think, "Ooh, you knew better than to make that assumption/hold that stereotype" when I think I'm just going to be reading a fluffy YA romance. Good job, Albertalli.
