Quick Summary: A second chance love story and then some
My Review: Love and Other Words by Christina Lauren was everything! I cannot stop crying. What Macy and Elliot had was meant to be treasured. What happened was gut-wrenching, tragic, messed up, beautiful, and deep. Why did the things that happened have to happen? (Sniffles and gasps)
My Final Say: This one tugged on my heart strings. I cannot even...

Wow. This was an emotional read. How can things so connected, fall apart so badly? A story of growing up and love.

This does friends to young lovers just right with the flashbacks of Macy and Elliot interwoven with the pair reconnecting eleven years after the thing that broke them apart. Because of the back and forth we don't find out what that was until 90% in. And the thing itself and the getting past it didn't work for me - hence the one star drop - either it was enough to keep Macy away for eleven years and have her running when she first sees Elliot again or it is something she can get over just by tell

A definitive vacation read in that this story is quite straightforward and uncomplicated in its two-time line story told in mostly alternating chapters. One time line focuses on the "before", on the budding romance between the two main characters in their teen years. The second time line focuses on the "after", on the possibility of a second chance more than 10 years later.

After watching Loch's Library on Youtube, I (who is not very romantic), decided I needed some romance in my life. So, with 8 audiobook credits in hand, I purchased this on Librofm. It was cute, but there were so many missed opportunities. The before timeline was definitely my favorite, but before I go any further, I really, really didn't like Macy. What a self-absorbed cow and so dramatic. Even in the teenage timeline, so unbelievable. Do you know any teenagers who wouldn't have boned way before
