The Thief was fantastic! Marisol definitely fit the bill as a strong female protagonist to a T, and I loved how she stood up for herself and her grandma.
Assail worried me. A lot.
And there were a lot of other things to worry me as well - off to the next book I go.

I was so not excited when Ward announce that The Thief would be about Assail and Sola. I liked Sola, but she was so whiny when she left Assail, and I just didn't love Assail in other books. However, Ward did an amazing job with this story, as I not only liked it, but ended up really loving it. I have to say Sola's grandmother is one of my most favorite characters pretty much ever. She cracked me up so much and I loved how she helped Sola and Assail finally get to see one anothe

Initial Thoughts: I enjoyed Assail and Sola's romantic journey. Really loved her grandmother and he interactions with Assail's cousins. I was irritated by the V and Jane subplot - how many times are they going to separate and then resolve? It's characteristic of Ward to give us the nemesis plot lines, but the ones with Vitoria were not really necessary - unless she has a change of heart and falls in love with a vampire... It was good though it does feel like a filler. A lot of things could have been left out that were not relevant nor needed. Looking forward to the next installment.
