This was a 14 hour audiobook and only about 3 hours kept my attention. If I were reading it I wouldn't have finished. It took 9 hours before I felt invested in the story. Maybe it was a narrator disconnect maybe it was the dual story line because the story premise is interesting but I couldn't connect and "want" to hear more.

I have heard of children being taken from parents and then being adopted by families who could afford to pay the fees of the baby brokers. This is a sad story overall, but I couldn't put it down.
