So good! But still so many unanswered questions! Thankfully I have the next book in the series ready to go, but I wanted to write a review for this one first while it's still fresh in my mind.

Honestly though, the plot of this one was secondary compared to the individual stories of Evie and Cyrus and their relationship dynamic. I loved how interesting they both were as characters and I love how we find out so much about them in such subtle ways, even while they both share so little of themselves So good! But still so many unanswered questions! Thankfully I have the next book in the series ready to go, but I wanted to write a review for this one first while it's still fresh in my mind.

I loved how interesting they both were as characters and I love how we find out so much about them in such subtle ways, even while they both share so little of themselves. It was a masterful show, don't tell, execution by the author, and I just really wanted to get to know more about Evie and Cyrus.

As for the actual plot itself, I guessed close to the end what happened but it seems like there might still be some unresolved issues. I'm not sure if these things will be addressed in the next book, but we'll see. Like I said though, it's Evie and Cyrus I can't wait to get back to.

Update 2021.3.14: Now that I've finished the second book and know that it doesn't address the unresolved issues in this book. I have some additional thoughts on that...
