I was a little nervous in the beginning. First, I have never been one to deep dive into bands beyond the music, but recently a few documentaries and friends reviews had me curious about this fictional account. Some say it mirrors Fleetwood Mac, but whatever or whomever, it was a solid look at life on the road and the music scene in the late sixties. The tale is an oral history with interviews regarding a fictional band and what happens when Daisy Jones joins them and they hit the charts. For me,

Daisy Jones & The Six came on my radar kind of late. I say that because I hadn’t seen much buzz for it – until after I had downloaded the Audio. I decided to pick it up when I saw it in an email from the publisher, detailing its full cast.
Suffice it to say: I have a weakness for an assorted cast narration.

I really love the subject matter because of my own foray into the musical world, but when it comes to sex, drugs, and rock n' roll, the only thing I can relate to is the rock n' roll part.
What I loved most about this book were the parts about the music creation process; the way they worked together, the way the songs and lyrics came about, how each person contributed or thought about the process and their contribution. That was incredibly interesting to me.
I also loved the storytelling format. ...more

Daisy is a girl coming of age in L.A. in the late sixties, sneaking into clubs on the Sunset Strip, sleeping with rock stars, and dreaming of singing at the Whisky a Go Go. The sex and drugs are thrilling, but it’s the rock and roll she loves most. By the time she’s twenty, her voice is getting noticed, and she has the kind of heedless beauty that makes people do crazy things. Also getting noticed is The Six, a band led by the brooding Billy Dunne. On the eve of their first tour, his girlfriend

Really enjoyed this book so much. The full cast recording made the story come to life and made it feel like you were right in the story. Seriously felt so real, I kept hitting Google to make sure these weren't real people. Can't wait to see the show once it hits Amazon!
