4,5 perfect balance stars
This book is a perfect balance between cute yet real, past and present, nostalgic yet hopeful.
I won't explain the plot as you can go read the blurb but I will focus on the cast and what made me love that book
1) Meet the cast:
Kyle is: boyish, handsome, loyal, afraid to be associated with his family’s mistakes, respectful, a good man. Humble yet self-confident.
He respects Piper and can’t believe how lucky he is. He will never pressure her yet once they’ll “do ...more

Tucker delivered a unique tale. Parts have a young adult vibe as we spend time at Camp WAWA where our couple meet as camp counselors in their youth. It was filled with firsts, friendships, kisses, and parental expectations.
The present day storyline has our heroine stepping into her role as VP at her dad’s multibillion-dollar real estate development firm. It delivered a closed door romance filled with laughter, tears and swoons. It’s the story of what happens when your first love is the new secur ...more

*I received a free copy of Say You Still Love Me from Atria. This has in no way influenced my review which is honest and unbiased*
I'm a huge fan of second chance romances, and Kyle and Piper worked on getting theirs. I loved a lot of things about this story, but I found the beginning to be a bit slow, and the ending to be a bit 'easy'.
The characters were relatable, and I wanted them to work things out.

I love second chance romance when it deserved or earned. I love first love being that one kind of forever love. I love seeing the underdog get that elusive chance to have that something more. There are lots of things that I could have loved about this story, there were some things that took all that away.
I found the use of past and present snippets of the relationship between Kyle and Piper to be helpful and at the same time gave me the reasons behind why the story's impact was what it was. Pip ...more

It's a case of "it's not the book, it's me". I enjoyed the camp setting and the corporate setting, but the romance was a bit too much, I guess I just prefer contemporaries to romance.
I liked the characters, it was refreshing to have a corporate VP female lead, and I liked the various relationships.
However, the foucs on romance didn't really work for me. I'm a sucker for romance fanfic but might just not love romance books.
I'm still going to try some light romance ones though, I'm still really ...more

I liked this one, but wasn't wowed by it. Both romances, the past and present, went about how I expected them to go. What kept me interested was seeing how Piper dealt with Trip and her dad in business. I liked that she was able to show her dad that she could handle things and that he gave her the chance. I also really loved the mini camp reunion at the end, was surprised and yet not with how all of them were as adults.
