I read Salem's Lot after reading Dracula and Interview with the Vampire. I'm glad I completed reading the books in that order. I found Salem's Lot an outstanding read. Eventhough I do not enjoy reading books about vampire's, I found Salem's Lot an entertaining read. Stephen King has a great way of telling a story that just creeps the reader out of their mind.

"Read a book that scares you." Stephen King definitely qualifies. He has the spook factor down very well. He puts his characters in precarious situations and this reader cares enough about them to see how they make out. But this book might have worked better for a category of "a book that grosses you out." He is, as promised, however, a master storyteller.
