Let me say right up front - In Cold Blood is a hard book to read. But the things that make it hard to read are the same things that make it a brilliant book.

I had out this one off for a long time, but one of my knitting groups picked it to read and so I finally got it on audiobook. Wow. Just wow. It is really gripping and keeps one interested until the final words. The character revelations made this such an interesting read. The presentation of the information felt very much like a newspaper report at first, but then as you start to imagine the day to day life of tr Clutter family, the journalistic style grows more comfortable and attention-holding

Very good book...reads like a novel, but is really one of the first "true crime" novels ever written.
