As I read this for the second time, I found myself in awe of the storytelling ability of Patrick Rothfuss. There are stories within stories within the main story in this book that are more intricate and complex than anything ever penned by James Patterson. Which is why it's a crying shame that authors like Patterson rake in $75 million a year while guys like Rothfuss don't even make the list of the best paid authors. I took my time reading this one, after regretting binge reading the first one. Being very aware that the third book is currently nowhere in sight, I wanted to make this book last.
There's more mature content in this book, something I note mostly because the first one was such an easy recommendation to the voracious teen readers I meet at the library. It only makes sense; as Kvothe is maturing, so is the content. It's nothing too explicit, but may be a consideration for more conservative parents.

If I could give this book 12 trillion stars, I would. I am an unabashed fan/groupie of Patrick Rothfuss. I recommend his books to anyone who asks and everyone who doesn't. I am sure that there are enough reviews about the book plot, so I won't go into it because redundancy is boring. I was captivated by the book - the characters remain strong, the writing eloquent and the plot as twisty as a very old willow tree in a hurricane zone.
