Vonnegut takes the reader through an emotional space-coaster ride as he convinces us life is full of good and bad luck, life is meaningless, God is indifferent, we are pawns in mundane tasks for other worlds, and finally, the reason that we are all here (I won't give it away, though).

This is a good book to read if you like thinking as much as reading. I am not sure I understand a tenth
of what all this means, but it is still amazing. Parts of it are almost prophecy, such as this statement
about the message Salo carries, it had been prepared by
"A kind of university-only nobody goes to it. There aren't any buildings, isn't any faculty. Everybody's in it and nobody's in it. It's like a cloud that everybody has given a little puff of mist to, and then the cloud does all the heavy ...more
