Now that I'm done listening to this audiobook, I really miss having Tina Fey's voice in my ear. Listening to this totally revived my big ol' Tina Fey crush -- she delivers her perfect mix of humor, feminism, social commentary, and intelligence here, and I think you'd miss out if you read the "paper" version since her inflections and imitations brought a lot to the stories. Tina Fey stays humble throughout (both with self-deprecating humor and with acknowledgment that there are much "bigger" prob ...more

I had high hopes for this book, and overall it didn't disappoint. I think the book really hit its stride when Tiny started writing about the SNL years and beyond, and her issues as a mom, issues with her weight, etc. I thought her childhood stories were the weakest, but the book ends on such a high note that you basically forget that it started slow. Funny, and worth reading, but not as personal as I'd like. I wanted more stories about her life and the people in it, instead of funny essays about work. And that's probably my bad for judging it against what I wanted versus what it is. ...more

Love the stories she tells about her personal life and her work. She's funny and honest. Probably more self-deprecating than she needs to be, but always so smart and charming. Definitely a recommended read. ...more

This book taught me three things: 1. Tina Fey is even more amazing and awesome than I previously thought. 2. Memoirs, especially comedic memoirs, may be best enjoyed as audiobooks. 3. Comedic memoir audiobooks are best read by their authors.

I highly recommend this book, particularly in audiobook format.
