Completely adorable.

Not sure why I didn't read this sooner--YA graphic novel about theater kids seems like it should be an obvious pick for me. I think maybe I felt like I'd already read it, since I'd heard so much about it? (And lived it.) But I finally read it for real and found it very charming. Sweet, wonderful, funny, excellent. 4.5 stars? I loved Callie and her entire group. Except Matt, who appears to be learning the ways of The Nice Guy, and I wasn't thrilled with his resolution.

I'm so glad my 5th grader asked me to read Raina Telgemeier's books with her. They're such emotionally vulnerable explorations of middle-school experiences. Just absolutely fantastic books. Highly recommend.

Captures the drama of middle school perfectly. I loved that the main characters are crew members, not just actors. So many times the crew is not recognized for being an integral part of any production. Can't wait to see what Telgemeier comes up with next!
