There is a lot about this to love: quirky, smart, sex-positive, funny, surprisingly sweet and endearing. The title makes it a little weird to check out, but it makes a lot more sense once you are in on the major plot point -- the two main characters (an enthusiastic library-saving librarian named Suzanne and a reluctant actor-turned-banker named Jonathan who both love literature, NPR, and other nerdy stuff) stop time when they orgasm (which I'm considering the fantasy/sci-fi element in this), wh ...more

As I’ve said before, I'm just not sure where Matt Fraction and I stand...My local Graphic Novel Reading Group is having a Matt Fraction month with the required texts of Sex Criminals and Hawkeye, Vol. 1: My Life as a Weapon. I also read Satellite Sam, Volume 1and just picked up The Five Fists Of Science and X-Men: Nation X.

I love the concept of Sex Criminals (which is that two people who can stop time while having intercourse decide to use that time to rob banks as a Robin Hood style endeavor).

oh my gosh I know I'm so late to the Sex Criminals party. Super fun party, though! And great art. I guess I shouldn't be surprised that Matt Fraction is able to make such a weird concept into something human and interesting, because that's like, kind of what he does. ...more

2.5? Suzie meets a guy with the same secret she has - time stops when she has an orgasm - only he's not quite as mentally healthy as she is, they end up robbing banks and the sex police are on their trail. The premise is so fun, and the art is amazing - I love the style, especially during the Quiet, and the injokes are just hilarious. How often do you get to say that you pored over drawings of a porn shop? But I hated the slut shaming of her friend and couldn't stand Jon. And while I love that S ...more

Premise: two people who both have the ability to stop time (for everyone else) when they orgasm meet each other, discover their shared ability, end up robbing banks. This was pretty interesting all on its own. Then add that it's written by matt Fraction, and thus all over my tumblr feed, and it was only a matter of time before I checked this out.

This is so good. Weird and quirky and completely real at the same time. Imagine discovering your emerging sexuality comes with this peculiar quirk. Is i

I expected this to be different and a little weird, but I didn't expect it to be as weird as it was! The Sex Police surprised me. The idea of orgasm affecting the time/space rules in some way has been done before (one example is the movie Liquid Sky - now THAT was a weird movie!), but this comic handled it in a fresh and new way. Aside from the whole "orgasms stop time" thing, this reminded me a lot of the old and venerable Love and Rockets. I wasn't crazy about the art, but four stars for surpr ...more
