I continue to enjoy these (and this one dragged less than one or two books ago, when I simply gave up) but this woman needs an editor in the worst way. Also, the plot line following Brianna's family did not, in the end, seem to add much of anything to the book--not sure why it really was necessary! But I did enjoy reading my way through and find myself wondering if this is the last book--it seems more neatly concluded than the last few....

FINALLY finished this...took a couple months, which is the longest I've ever taken for an Outlander book. Although better than The Fiery Cross (which is the dullest book in the series), it still dragged in many places. More editing needed.

I stretched it out as long as I could, but I finally finished reading it. Definitely better than An Echo in the Bone. Got a little tired of the American Revolution, and perhaps there was one surgery too many for me... And really I just want Jamie and Claire and not 12 other people's perspectives but overall it was really good. Not a cliffhanger ending (thank god!) I don't think I could handle another one like last time! But also set it up so there are plenty of stories to be told in the next one

3.5 stars. Like many readers, I've been axiously awaiting the release of MOBY. The book is not a disappointment in terms of the storytelling. However, I felt like something was lacking. I think the series hit its pinnacle with the initial trilogy.
