What Members Thought
There were parts of this book that were beautiful, compelling and strange. But there was a huge plot element that seemed to lead nowhere, which is a peeve of mine. I'm normally so enthralled with Murakami and a friend said this was her favorite of his, but I think I get more from his shorter works.

Profound and epic - perhaps a little too profound and epic for my tastes - it did take me an awful long time to get through the book but something about it kept me coming back for more, and ultimately I was happy to wait it out. Generally how I feel about Murakami's work...
