I was all excited to read this because of Oscar Wao. It's written in the same street sensible style...but maybe too much the same. This book lacked any freshness. The story seemed too disjointed. This basically amounted to a bunch of interconnected stories. I enjoyed the last one the most...

But I struggle with Diaz at times...too much cursing and too much "n****a." All of that takes me away from what he's writing.
