This book was better than Wicked. I echo Maya's comments about the author's issues with women. It is hard to empathize with any of his heroines, if they can even be considered heroines, because they all have an ugliness to them. But unlike Wicked, Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister was compelling and interesting right from the beginning.

I really love gothic novels....anything with mystery and history is a wonderful thing, as far as I'm concerned.
Consequently - I quite enjoyed this book. I love it when authors take a fresh look at stories we already know. Sometimes, it doesn't come off well, but this writer has such a way with imagery, he did a beautiful job. ...more
