I love this guy. The book was an extended version of his comedy special "Obsessed." I didn't mind, though, because what was funny the first time still is funny.

Jim Gaffigan is funny. And he loves food. And he wrote a book all about food. In Food: A Love Story, Gaffigan tells us all about his views on fast food chains, regional specialties, pizza joints, and vegetables. And ice cream. And hot dogs. And, of course, hot pockets. Wave after wave of food talk. I loved Dad Is Fat because it had all Gaffigan's self-deprecating humor involving guilty pleasure foods and overeating but still had all the gooey awesome that is life raising five kids. Food is what

A coworker and I took a day trip together for work and wanted something harmless and inoffensive to listen to in the car in the land of terrible radio. This is a 3-star book, but gets an extra star for Gaffigan's funny narration and for its constant mentions of my favorite places and foods. Champaign, IL got a barbecue shout out, and there was plenty said about Kansas City, Chicago, and St. Louis food too, which is a great way to win me over.

This was really funny, and not what I expected...And maybe I should have. It is literally an entire book of Jim Gaffigan talking about how he loves food and what kinds, with a few stories thrown in too. It's delightful. This book is basically a donut. You might not get anything nutritional...But it is still wonderful.

Listened to this whole book while painting a bathroom. It's exactly what you would expect if you are familiar with Jim Gaffigan. Light humor that is not very high brow, but is entertaining to listen to while you drive or complete a task.

I have watched some Jim Gaffigan specials and clips and usually find him entertaining—this book did not disappoint. I definitely recommend the audiobook. While Gaffigan is well known for being a clean comedian, I still wouldn't listen to this with younger than teens as there is enough mention of alcohol and gluttony that I think the humor might be lost on younger ones. Highly recommend!

Discussion of so many fast food chains in the end wore a little thin, but pretty damned funny overall. And now I'm hungry. Anyone know a good place for BBQ?
