I couldn't possibly have made a better choice to follow Things Fall Apart with than Cry, The Beloved Country. Of course, I didn't know that at the time. South Africa is a beautiful country full of heartache and hope. Cry, the Beloved Country is a testament to that heartache and hope. One of the most beautiful books ever written. It's strength is in it's quiet hope for a better future. A story of love that shakes the earth. A story of man's inherent worth and dignity.
