Admittedly, not my thing nor a book I would have chosen on my own. I can see why people like Anne Tyler's writing -- she has the eye, ear, and insight for capturing those small moments and tensions between white, middle-class family members, and this is a white, middle-class family drama that will resonate with basically anyone who has a white, middle-class family that looks happy-ish on the outside and has a lot of complications on the inside (which is pretty much all the white, middle-class fa ...more
